FAQs

What exactly is a SPLAT! session?

A SPLAT! session is 45 minutes of pure, messy fun where you get to splat paint and let loose in a colourful, safe and vibrant space. You will have 15 minutes suit-up & instructions, and 30 minutes activity. It’s all about letting go, expressing yourself and enjoying the freedom of creativity, with a canvas to take home as your personal masterpiece.

Who can participate?

SPLAT! is designed for everyone aged 4 and up - from kids to grandparents! No matter your age, you can join the fun, get creative and make colourful memories together. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult - no session fee applies for adults who are there to cheer on the artists from our reception area.

Why are children under age 4 not allowed?

Our SPLAT! sessions are designed for children aged 4 and up to ensure a safe, fun and enjoyable experience for everyone. Younger children are more likely to put paint in their mouths, rub it in their eyes, or slip on paint spills. Also, they may not yet have the coordination or understanding needed to safely enjoy the messy, high-energy environment. This age limit also helps us keep all participants safe and ensures a positive experience for everyone.

Do I need to wear anything specific?

We provide reusable protective overalls, goggles and shoe covers to keep you safe from the paint. The paints are water-based, non-toxic and washable, however we recommend wearing clothes you don’t mind getting messy, as we cannot guarantee complete paint stain removal from certain fabrics. Kindly avoid wearing white clothes / shoes.

How should I wash my clothes after a session if they have paint on them?

For best results, we recommend rinsing the garment (both inside and out) in cold water as soon as possible, gently rub the area with mild liquid detergent or handwash / stain remover soap, then wash it with regular detergent, normal cycle (max 30–40°C).

If the paint has dried, soak in cold or lukewarm water before washing. Apply liquid laundry detergent directly onto the paint area and gently work it in with fingers or a soft brush. Avoid hot water or tumble drying until the paint is completely gone, as heat can set the pigment.

Please note that results may vary depending on fabric type, how long the paint has been left to dry and whether heat has been applied. We always recommend wearing clothes that you don’t mind getting messy. Some fabrics (denim, synthetics, delicate fabrics) may hold pigment more strongly.

Can I store my things safely during the session?

Yes! We provide lockers where you can store your personal belongings while you splat away, so you can enjoy your session without worrying about your stuff.

Are the paints safe for our skin?

Absolutely! We use water-based, non-toxic, skin-friendly paints. We also provide protective gear to keep everyone safe and comfortable during the session.

Do I need any artistic skills?

SPLAT! is all about fun, expression and creativity - not perfection. There are no rules or judgements, just colour and chaos, so no artistic skills are required.

What is included in a session?

We provide everything you need and believe in a sustainable environment. We sourced high quality reusable protective gear, splatting tools, brushes, canvases and non-toxic, water-based paints. You just need to come ready to have fun!

Can we take our artwork home?

Yes! Each participant can take home their own canvas, or families/groups can choose to create one big collaborative masterpiece, to remember the session by. You can purchase a take-home art box to transport your canvas home safely.

How do I book a session?

Simply visit our Bookings page, select week or weekend, choose your date and time, and follow the steps to confirm your booking. It only takes a few clicks! Walk-ins are not accepted.

Can we book private or group sessions?

Yes! We have packages for all sorts of private events; family and friends get togethers, corporate/team building events and kids/teen parties. Contact us to tailor the experience to your needs.

Are tourist groups welcome?

Yes! We work with tour operators and welcome tourists who want a unique, colourful experience. It’s a fun way to take home a one-of-a-kind souvenir. We are also listed on GetYourGuide.

Is there somewhere to stop for drop-off or pick-up?

Absolutely! There’s a convenient drop-off and pick-up zone right outside our door, making it super easy to arrive or collect someone after their colourful adventure.

Is your studio wheelchair accessible?

Yes! Our studio is fully wheelchair accessible, so everyone can visit and enjoy the space. While we’ve made every effort to make the room easy to navigate, participating in a full SPLAT! session may be challenging depending on mobility. Please get in touch before booking so we can discuss the best way for you to join the fun safely.
